ZX-100® has been conceived to create an “all-round polymer” family for dry running. For this reason, ZX-100® does not have any extremely disadvantageous property, as it is usually the case with extreme materials such e.g. PTFE.
It does not have moisture absorption problems as PA and generally speaking, it can replace lubriacated bronze in most of the applications, saving so weight, machining time & costs. It is nicknamed “little PEEK” because of its outstanding performance up to 110°C (RTI-Str). E.g. the modification ZX-100K has even better PV-values that PEEK upto ca. 7m/min.
ZX-100 Family
When to use the family ZX-100® ?
- Underwater applications or saline environment
- When low wear and friction are required
- If FDA conformity or EU 10/2011 approval is required
(for this: modification ZX-100K® or ZX-100K® blue)
When is the ZX-100® family not suitable?
- At high temperatures
(e.g. the family ZX-200® as alternative) - For strong acids, alkalis, phenols, cresols (e.g. the family ZX-600® as alternative)
- For gamma ray and steam sterilization – limited
(e.g. the family ZX-200®)
